Fashion Hong Kong
To celebrate the In Style • Hong Kong promotion campaign, the HKTDC has invited six Hong Kong fashion designers to create a graphic motif highlighting the special characteristics of the trendsetting city and designed a special “batik crossover” collection to be unveiled during the Gala Dinner.
This collaboration is presented by Fashion Hong Kong, an initiative created by the HKTDC to promote local designers and labels in international fashion events in support of Hong Kong’s economic growth and creativity. Since its debut in 2015, Fashion Hong Kong has staged numerous world-class runway shows in Tokyo Fashion Week, New York Fashion Week and Copenhagen Fashion Week.

ANGUS TSUI is a fashion label founded in 2014 with a mission to promote and advocate environmental sustainability in the fashion industry while providing edgy styles and unique aesthetics. The collections can be found in ISETAN Japan and Cocktail Select Shop Hong Kong.
The founder and creative director, Angus Tsui won a lot of international and local awards, including the renowned “Hong Kong Young Design Talent Award” by Hong Kong Design Centre and “Design Student of the Year” by Hong Kong Designers Association. He also strongly believes that ”sustainability must be incorporated into the whole supply chain, from design to sourcing, manufacturing, retailing, and even to promotion and after-sales services.” He has collaborated with international companies like H&M and Ford to create up-cycled accessories by using different sustainable materials.
Apart from simply being a designer, he also established an educational project – ANCARES, coordinating sustainable workshops, seminars, and exhibitions on sustainability with different NGOs and enterprises which share the same mission. He also worked with the up-cycling vanguards such as Orsola de Castro and Ada Zanditon in London to pursue advanced sustainable design techniques.

Chloe Sung is one of the Hong Kong-born up and rising young fashion designers. She was employed by one of the renowned Hong Kong fashion designers Walter Ma as a design assistant at the age of 20. In the following year, Sung established her personal namesake brand in 2014.
Chloe Sung skilfully highlights the charm of the female bodies with a variety of colors, fabrics and cutting. Alluring and enticing, CHLOE SUNG’s designs feature a sense of luxury that well blends elegance with ethereality, in the mean time reflecting the designer’s attention to details.

Maison Vermillion was launched in 2016 by Dora Chu, a fashion designer and graduate of Central Saint Martins. Dora has vast design experiences and has contributed in design studios such as Alexander McQueen, Jenny Packham and Vivienne Tam. Her international education as well as exposure to different facets of the fashion business, all culminated in the creation of Maison Vermillion.
Maison Vermillion reflects a mix of eastern and western influences and design practices, being inspired by both heritage and romanticism of the west and the delicacy of the eastern accents. The look is electric, regal and empowered. The essence of the brand is rooted in rebellion and the power of femininity. The collections are expertly constructed with couture technique mindset using lace, silks, crepe de chine and contrasted with strong and bold metallic hardware. KEVOLIE, a designer brand formed through the partnership between an award-winning Hong Kong couture designer Kev Yiu and a famous Hong Kong artist Myolie Wu. The aim of KEVOLIE is to be one of the leading high-end custom-made bridal wear designer labels in Asia. It opened its first flagship store in Hong Kong in 2015.
The collaboration between Myolie and Kev was born out of Myolie’s keen interest in fashion, as well as Kev’s outstanding craftsmanship in high-end dress making, who graduated in England with distinction in fashion and was awarded one of the Hong Kong Ten Outstanding Designers in 2014, and more importantly, with the high standards that the team strives to seek for every single piece.
The KEVOLIE team is comprised of a group of professional seamstresses with over 30 years of hands-on high-end dress making experiences, which has also already built up a strong bond with Kev for almost 6 years. Nowadays, Kev and his team still continue designing and painstakingly completing every single order, which involves 80 to 100 man-hours of sewing and beading following a full-dress design process, in his studio above the flagship store in Hong Kong.

Melissa Bui studied at the prestigious London College of Fashion (LCF), majoring in Surface Textiles for Fashion. Choosing to focus on the intricacies & elegance of Embroidery Design, Melissa graduated with First-Class Honours, serving as a stitch in the brands uniqueness today. Melissa was at the center of collaboration between the English National Ballet & the LCF with a collection inspired by the Ballet Russes which was shown at the Victoria & Albert museum.
It was around this time that Melissa worked as an intern for and was taken in by the celebrated designer Mathew Williamson as well as the Hong Kong-based couturier, Vivian Luk. Melissa has since worked as an Assistant Designer to the illustrious couture designer Barney Cheng. She focused on creating one-off, made-to-order pieces, and also developing stylish and functional corporate wear.
In 2013 Melissa launched her own collection “Antoinette on the Moon” and has since produced 2 collections a year under the label MELISSA BUI.
