Mr Rimsky Yuen, SC, was appointed Secretary for Justice of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region on 1 July 2012.
Before joining the Government, Mr Yuen was a barrister in private practice, specializing in commercial disputes. He also acted as arbitrator and mediator in domestic and international commercial disputes. Mr Yuen was appointed Senior Counsel in 2003 and a Recorder of the Court of First Instance of the High Court in 2006.
As Secretary for Justice, Mr Yuen takes a keen interest in the promotion of Hong Kong as a regional hub for dispute resolution, and is currently the Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Promotion of Arbitration and the Steering Committee on Mediation in Hong Kong.
