The Belt and Road Initiative: Digital Framework for Connecting Smart Cities

Vice Chairperson, Hong Kong Public Key Infrastructure Forum Chairman, Smart City Industrial Committee, CMA

Ms. Eva Chan is the Vice Chairman of Hong Kong PKI Forum, the Secretary General of Asia PKI Consortium, and CEO of Certizen Limited, which aims to promote the service and products of PKI, facilitate the security of international e-commerce, and establish connected cross-border e-commerce and to boost the implementation of secure transaction policy.

She is also the Chairman of the Smart City Industrial Committee under the Chinese Manufacturers’ Association of Hong Kong (CMA), which aims to boost the efficiency of producing, living and managing of a Smart City and to leverage on new technologies to drive social and economic development. It is the goal of the committee to organize and interoperate cross border information, telecommunication, and financial infrastructure while extending and popularizing intelligent applications so all citizens, enterprises and organizations can benefit from Smart City advancements in Hong Kong.

As Chairman, Eva aims to promote CMA members’ awareness toward adoption of technologies for a Smart City, including e-Cheque and cross-border financial payments. By connecting with both overseas and Mainland China Chamber of Commerce and assisting the research of policy and standards along the “Belt and Road” countries, she aims to help promote cooperation and help Hong Kong play a better role as a “Super Connector”.
